FBI works with Tallahassee hospital after cyber incident; computers offline

Tallahassee Memorial Health Care has a 155-acre campus of city-owned land between Centerville and Miccosukee roads into a research center and regional medical center.

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare leadership instructed professional medical workers that “great progress” has been made in the investigation into a laptop or computer stability issue that seriously disrupted functions around the previous few days.

However, hospital officers remained silent on the specific nature of what they have explained as an info-technological innovation security challenge that was uncovered by workers on Thursday.

The clinic notified law enforcement, while it hasn’t delivered specifics. The Tallahassee Law enforcement Department is not concerned in the investigation. The FBI confirmed Monday it is doing work with TMH but did not elaborate.

“FBI Jacksonville was notified of an IT stability occasion at Tallahassee Memorial Health care,” a bureau spokesperson instructed the Democrat in an e-mail. “Whilst our policy prohibits us from confirming of denying the existence or standing of a federal investigation, we are doing work with TMH safety groups to evaluate the situation.”
